The De Ville Rattrapante is fitted with the revolutionary Co-Axial escapement, a technology exclusive to Omega, and designed by the horological master, Dr. George Daniels. It represents one of the most significant advances in traditional watchmaking techniques. The Co-axial escapement obtains a level of efficiency superior to that of the lever escapement while maintaining reliability and accuracy. Friction is considerably reduced and performance is further improved by a free-sprung balance that allows for more precise adjustments of the watch. The white rhodium-plated movement is finished with wave-patterning, circular-graining and gold-plated engraving. The screw and column-wheel components are made of blued-steel and the movement is visible through the gorgeous sapphire crystal case back.
The white dial has white chronograph counters allowing for easy reading of both the chronograph, date and time functions.

The continuous seconds subdial (at 9), has an intriguing 'railway-track' design that offers improved clarity. It utilizes a double-arc design; the inner arc measures the first 30 seconds and the outer arc the remaining time. Seconds are read off using just one double-tipped blued-steel hand - when the smaller arm is rotating along the rail-arc, the initial 30-seconds are being timed. When the longer skeletonized arm is visible, the latter 30-seconds are being measured. The unique date aperture is displayed in the unusual position of 11 oclock. The 3-day continuous date window allows for accurate date reading even when the present day is obscured by the minute hand - since the previous and following dates, though partially covered, remain visible.

The De Ville Co-Axial Rattrapante is presented on a black high-gloss stitched alligator strap with a fold-over steel clasp.

SuperLuminova-coated tips ensure night-time visibility. The dial also features luminous, facetted and diamond-polished Alpha hour and minute hands.

A remarkable piece of watchmaking engineering, the De Ville Co-Axial Rattrapante is a gorgeous addition to the Omega brand.

  • WatchChronograph:The red tipped split-seconds hand allows precise 1/8th second readings off the unique dial configuration. The sub-dials (30-minute counter at 3 oclock, 12-hour counter at 6 oclock, and continuous seconds at 9 oclock) are larger than usual and therefore overlap. Two column wheels control the split-seconds (Rattrapante) chronograph mechanism and ensure precision start, stop and reset functions for the chronograph hand, the split-seconds hand and the hour and minute totalisers. A vertical coupling ensures no delay in the chronograph hand and the split-seconds hand when the timing function is started. The split second feature is activated with a red-tipped pusher at 10 o'clock.
